See what gets measured

Select a question to review the evidence.

Measurement extends beyond participation and learning. Different questions require different evidence.

Was it relevant?

Examine whether participants recognize meaningful application to their lives, roles, goals, or challenges.

Did they engage?

Examine the quality of participation, involvement, interaction, and contribution.

Did they understand?

Look for knowledge gain, concept understanding, clarity, and confidence in understanding.

Can they do it?

Use skills demonstration, application exercises, and appropriate feedback to examine capability.

Are they doing it?

Look for observable application, behavior frequency, and consistency using appropriate participant and stakeholder evidence.

Did it matter?

Connect behavioral change with the individual, team, or organizational outcomes agreed for the engagement.

Did it last?

Examine consistency over time, habit formation, and resilience under pressure.

Did it transfer?

Examine application beyond the original learning context, including other situations, people, relationships, or systems.

Was it worth it?

Where appropriate, consider cost, value, resource efficiency, and relevant stakeholder outcomes.

An appropriate evidence plan

Clarity, consent, and proportionate measurement.

Agree the baseline, evidence sources, review points, and intended use. Development evidence remains separate from employment or disciplinary decisions unless a separate explicit process governs that use.
